While I will not say Buddist have never been involved in wars, you have to look pretty far back to find one with heavy involvement in fighting.


I think, though I'm not sure, the last time a major Christian denomination was involved in supporting/ promoting a war would be pre-1500.

Zen Buddists in Japan offered full support and backing to the Japanese nationalism during WW2.
