I've looked and looked, and this is the only bookshelf/tower design that even remotely fits what I want. I'm going to buy both for my bedroom (there's enough space). Together they're about $850 (plus tax, plus delivery charge), so say $950 all in all. Is that too much?

Also, if you think it's hideous, tell me, but I've been sitting on this one for 3 months already. Or if you can think of other manufacturers/retailers that have bookshelves in a similar style, please tell me. I welcome ideas.

My requirements: no visible grainy wood, not brown, chrome/silver or shiny black or glass look, standalone (doesn't have to be attached to the wall, so individual shelves are out), tall, not too wide.
