Is anyone else watching the Outback Bowl? This is the craziest game I've seen in years! Mossman Send a noteboard - 01/01/2010 08:04:02 PM
Basically, Northwestern trailed all game due to 5 picks thrown by their QB, including a couple in the end zone. Down by 14 with about 3:30 left, Northwestern scores a TD but the extra point is blocked. They try the onside kick, but Auburn recovers. Looks like Auburn's going to win.

Auburn moves the ball a bit, then fumbles. Northwestern drives the field and scores, then does a double-reverse flanker pass for the 2 point conversion. Tie game.

Auburn gets a great kick return, but as the returner approaches mid-field, the ball is stripped. Northwestern ball. Northwestern gets into field goal range, but misses the field goal as time expires. Overtime.

Auburn kicks the field goal to take the lead in overtime. Northwestern fumbles on their possession. Auburn recovers for the win. Right?

No.

Auburn is called for illegally batting the ball, but then replay shows the runner was down. Northwestern ball. Northwestern QB is sacked and fumbles it away. Auburn recovers and wins. Right?

No.

Replay shows the runner is down. Northwestern tries a field goal to tie and misses again (3 missed FG's and a missed XP for their kicker). Auburn wins!

No.

Auburn roughs the kicker, First down Northwestern. Northwestern can't score the td, so they line up for the field goal. It's a fake! Auburn stops the runner short of the goal line. Auburn wins, right?

Yes... finally.
