Manual transmission is something that you are only likely to see in two (and only two) instances:

1. Very cheap cars for people with no money
2. Very high end sports cars for rich enthusiasts (Ferrari et al.)

In all other instances, it doesn't make sense to build a car that a shrinking percentage of the population will be able to drive. I never learned to drive stick and don't care to learn.
