unless you're driving an automatic with lots of torque, i doubt you'd beat me in the hypothetical race up the mountain, even though i drive a corolla with a 4 cylinder engine. the point is, there are plenty of situations where the automatic transmission falls well short.


I don't know, I bet a guy with a Vette one time. It was an early Saturday morning. I used to go to work then all the time. Every weekend for like 3 years. Well he's rocking back and forths and looking at me at the light. I'm just driving a little old Mercury Sable. Nothing too special. It had some giddy up, though. He's on the back rock and the light changes. I took off, a mile later I was still ahead and then I saw the blue lights... well, he got pulled over :D Sweet, sweet victory. :P I mean, it did help that I had the timing of the lights down at the intersection, I new the road like the back of my hand and I was sober where he was probably not. :P

And the only condition I'd have with your type of race is to be able to drive whatever I race you in for about a week. I don't do anything stupid in a car that I haven't gotten to know :P
