The Redskins being competitive again would be good for football but I am not sure Shanahan can win it all. He's also notoriously lax on the defensive aspects of the game (which is why he lost his last job). It seems kind of weird to hire a coach who doesn't care about defense on a team that has a history of being a gritty, dirty, defensive-minded team.
But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...
