for different reasons. I bought a slightly-cheaper gateway laptop over the HP laptop I really wanted...and I've had all sorts of problems with video card incompatibilities with my games (the intel chipset has the power, but it's still not the nVidia or Radeon these games are coded for) and gateway is a bucket of carp.

It also gave me no end to my disappointment when I discovered that Acer is owned by the same company as gateway. I've always been fond of Acer products, but given my experiences with gateway's "customer service", I'm likely to totally avoid Acer if I can help it now.
