If at home with friends it's usually a delicious red wine, perhaps Italian.
If at the pub it's almost always real ale - depends what's in the taps.
I do enjoy a guinness.
And as for whiksy: Laphroaig. Mmmmmmm. Highland Park is rather tasty too.
