We are in a free country with freedom of religion and nobody knew what the little black boxes stood for? Is he the first Orthodox Jew who's done this on a plane? Are flight crews that insensitive to other cultures? WTF?!

anyone who has ever flown out of or into New York sees Orthodox Jews all the time in almost any terminal. I find it hard to believe this is a first in the history of domestic air travel.

I live in a country with a miniscule Jewish population and I would have recognised the things. Why? Because I'm in JFK all the time.
