Isn't that one of the problems of the entire sport?

is that the quarterback is always the default mvp
i think pierre thomas was probably just as deserving of mvp as brees, it was thomas that really got them going when the rest of their offense was stalled out.
still, it was nice to see the saints finally not only make it to the super bowl but actually win it all. they probably won't be back next year so i hope they enjoy it while it lasts

I enjoyed watching the game, but there are still a number of aspects about American football that make me rate it lower than rugby or football, and the fact that there's only one player who has to make all the important decisions - if the coach doesn't even make them for him - is among those. There's not much credit to be had for the running back or receiver making a catch when it was all planned by someone else beforehand. Some players get to shine through impressive agility in rushes or while trying to run after catching a pass - Addai comes to mind - but many players on the field never even get to do that much.
So yeah, of course the QB gets a default MVP if he's playing well, as Brees definitely was. Other players are lucky to get even two or three opportunities to do something special or particularly noteworthy in an entire game, and even when they do, they still have to share the credit with the QB in the case of receptions or passing plays in general.
I guess I'll be the first to say it... Who Dat?

Listen, you're uptight. You were looking for an argument/fight. Not quite characteristic of you, but
