Perhaps we all need food insurance. If healthcare-on-demand is a "right" then surely food is, too.


Basic sustenance is included in John Rawls' original formulation of primary goods, and others since then have done formulations that include health care, as well.

Not to mention that the US government runs a food stamp program, and has since before WWII. It's not a new or very controversial idea.
