Germany has the system you described and that works pretty okay. Of course people would even still prefer not to pay for the health insurance, but they'll always find stuff to complain and at least they don't have to talk about a cost list with their doctor. Because as I initially said, that's just insane.


My statement was more of a "in a better world" nature than a real solution to any current debates. How people can even disagree with that and insist they want to pay their doctors directly, I'll never know :P
