All of my Orthodox friends are doing a lot of fasting for Lent, but they're all Greek Orthodox (with the exception of one who's a convert and attends, like, a Hungarian Orthodox church or something).

Are dietary restrictions common in the Orthodox Church? I know nothing of the Eastern Rite. :(
