I didn't know him until now, but that description seems to fit with his behaviour now. And yes, that is remarkable about the UKIP, isn't it?
He pops up on Question Time every now and then, he mostly seems to concentrate on shouting when someone else is trying to talk... and also quite often when is talking as well. He is a big fan of shouting, as long as it is him who id doing it (it isn't fair if someone does it back to him, of course
)I would quite enjoy UKIP, if they just had a little less influence than they do, I'm always a fan of contradictions.
You could try denying him entrance the way you did Fortuyn, but somehow I think it'd only gain his party more votes.
Plus, then we would be saddled with him. We already have Farage being an ass. I guess we could try deporting him to France... hmm, this idea has potential.

I see your points - part of the reason why I say I could see myself voting for any of them is, of course, that I'm not wildly enthusiastic about any particular one of them. About the Lib Dems not being electable, though - if you get a hung parliament, suddenly they may become a lot more relevant. The UK could find itself returning to coalition governments or to minority government, and in both cases the Lib Dems stand to gain a lot of influence, assuming that the Conservatives would prefer Lib Dem support over Labour support. Then suddenly their bluff may get called, even if a real election victory is a long way off.
Yes, I did go through a phase of actually thinking a Tory win would be a good thing - Labour needs to be out of power and to get rid of a lot of the people who have worked their way to the top. More recently though my utter dislike of Cameron, Osbourne and pals combined with the massive issues Ashcroft's influence now leaves me thinking that Labour limping on is a better option.
The Lib Dems gaining influence through a hung parliment is pretty appealing though - their campaign policies matter less then as they would be trading, so they could push their more sensible policies and drop their attention grabbing, impractical ones fairly easily.

The UKIP makes a spectacle of itself in the European Parliament... why am I not surprised

What I don't get about the Lib Dems is their stance of ruling out a coalition government

The thing with Farage's comments is that they're completely inconsistent.
