it needs to be mentioned that it would still happen regardless of whether abortions are legal or not.
There are organizations that are accepting the girls, though, in order to curb this. I've seen a few in Mumbai... it's a tough life for those girls, though.
Despite what the article has to say about wealth, I would disagree with it. This is really much less common in Mumbai than it is in rural places. Yes, the city has 15 million people so of course there will be people from all walks of life, but really it's not common.
