Most solider's aren't going to come out just because the policy changes - Edit 1

they aren't going to wear a shirt saying, I am here, I am queer get used to it. Most gays in the military are going to remain closeted/keep it close to their chest for that is the military culture.

The thing that is going to change is now gay's that want to serve but can't due to witch hunts, won't be kicked out of the military. Arab translators and all that.

The thing that is going to change is now that gay's don't have to worry and stressing about hiding their orientation and losing their jobs.

The thing that is going to change is more gay soldiers are going to remain in the military instead of a couple years realizing they can't keep on hiding and thus quit/leave when they have an opportunity to find other employment.

The thing that is going to change is gay soldiers can have spousal benefits.

The thing that is going to change that if there is a problem with a fellow member of the military, if someone is harassing the gay/bi solider he is going to report it instead of trying to keep it hush hush for fear he may lose his job.

The thing that is going to change is straight soldiers who want out of the military, for they realize they don't want to be in the military won't try to pull the gay card, establish evidence they are gay (even though they are not), and then pull a "Klinger."
