For now, I shall merely say that the thing Camilla said was nothing to do with gender is everything to do with gender. Gender and sex are not the same thing. If you don't believe me, ask a speaker of Swahili, which has eight genders of which one includes people of both sexes.

Norwegian adjectival endings are as follows:

"Strong" form:

Used for adjectives in indefinite noun phrases ("a big thing") and predicates ("the thing is big")

Masc/fem sg: -0 <- that's a zero, not an O. It means "no ending".
Neut sg: -t (this also makes adverbs)
M/F/N pl: -e

"Weak" form:

Used for adjectives in definite noun phrases ("the big thing")

All forms: -e


It is the fact that masculine and feminine are the same that confuses me. It boggled my mind when I came back from Peru, and I have not really recovered yet. But you are right, of course.
