I feel bad for the thousands of priests and nuns who legitimately do goods works as you say and dedicate their lives to trying to be Christ-like. The Catholic Church looks worse and worse every day as they continue to deny their past wrongdoings concerning these pedophile priests.
It is quite a pickle Ratzinger is in though because of his purported "infallibility" means he can't resign or he and Catholics everywhere would have to recognize that the Pope is fallible.
