Hardly surprising they were right. I'm skeptical myself of how much Obamas domestic policies to date will help the economy; Wall Street and GM bailouts sound more like Hoovers failed "trickle down" stimulus than what we'd expect of a supposedly liberal Dem, and without real cost controls the healthcare bill is just one more corporate windfall to one of the few industries that's not exactly hurting right now. But comparing Obamas first year to Bushs is a bit like comparing Reagans first year to Kennedys. They took office in very different economic climates.
