I mean, seriously, TX is awesome and the only climate we don't have somewhere is tundra, so whether you want forests, coasts, plains or mountains you can find it in one part or another, but I know most your side of the Pond tend to either love or hate Texas culturally, and I wouldn't recommend the tourist traps like the Alamo or Mission Control anyway, only places like Nacogdoches you almost have to be from here to know.

So, yeah, check out the Pacific Northwest; it's gorgeous, and has plenty of huge fir trees and coasts of its own, plus real mountains. It's a treat in the summer because it's not blazing hot (as it usually is here; Mahtaliel was here for a week last year and we had highs >40 centigrade every day; I thought she'd melt. ) By Fall it should be pretty comfy; their "pineapple flow" or whatever they call it riding the coast up from HI should keep it from getting really cold. I've not been there in Fall though, so I can't speak too how much rain they'll be getting then. But you get to pester Canucks as well as Americans. Note: I am not responsible for wotmaniacs too shy to come out and play, though there are some awesome ones up that way.
