The fact that neither I nor my friend could use our credit cards (I only have one, but it rejected all four of his), the fact that yet other friend had to spend a good 15 minutes getting redirected around account creation and payment pages, and then dealing with the fact that when I click "play" the freaking ProgramData folder pops up instead of launching the game?

Yeah, no. Steam wins on this one. Really, really hard. :P
