Open world games require a bit of mental roleplaying, IMO. (whether it's Fallout, Oblivion or Minecraft) Otherwise, their story offerings are never as well-packaged or compelling as more linear RPG titles.
The sword might be grateful to the forge fire, but never fond of it.
