i definitely wasn't as persistent as you with trying to get my DS online and sorry if you're way beyond this, but the issue i had was that the DS simply won't connect to a WPA encrypted network. in order to get mine to work I had to revert my connection back to a WEP security setting, but i have roommates, and by doing this, it fucked with their connections, so i gave up. sounds like your tech problems are way beyond this, but just a thought...
