It seems like they're losing a more valuable market (imho) for the larger one. Fox and Ravens Send a noteboard - 05/05/2011 09:03:48 PM
When asked about the delay, EA boss John Riccitiello said, "Essentially, step by step, [BioWare is] adjusting some of the gameplay mechanics and some of the features that you'll see at E3 that can put this into a genre equivalent of shooter-meets-RPG, and essentially address a far larger market opportunity than Mass Effect 1 did and Mass Effect 2 began to approach."

Because after reading that, I've pretty much lost all interest in the game, so now I no longer need to concern myself with it, until I find it in the discount bin. But couldn't they adjust it to be more of an rpg, just for once? But I guess not.

They want to expand and have it reach move people as a shooter while we, who loved the first ME and would rather see the big RPG elements return, will be left by the wayside. I always feel like it's best to stay true to fans who supported the game in the beginning and the heavy RPGers than to kick them out of the way.
Go Hokies!

CS/CpE. Yay engineering!

Nah. I love RPGs, but I'm okay with the series not being a "real" RPG. - 05/05/2011 10:02:35 PM 844 Views
