Fair enough, though.

I will say I have not heard of anyone having these problems with Steam in years. Even if you don't have internet you can play, as long as you're on the last computer you connected to Steam with. You might be thinking of, say, Playstation Network, or Ubisoft's phone-home DRM, which HAVE been on the news over the past year for similar problems.
