I owned more games for GC than I have ever owned for any other system Jragghen Send a noteboard - 09/06/2011 03:07:55 AM
It was underpowered, and had few amazing exclusive titles. And the ones it did have were the Nintendo staples. Zelda. Metroid. Mario Kart.

Those were all really fun, but compare that to the revolution that was Xbox Live, or the stacks of amazing RPGs for the PS2? Doesn't compare.

Excepting the NES, the PC, and I may have passed it with the DS.

And a lot of them weren't Nintendo. The various Resident Evil games. Skies of Arcadia: Legends. Baten Kaitos (with Origins being the far better of the two). Ikaruga. The Monkey Ball series. Eternal Darkness. Then there's the multi-platforms where it had the best versions: RE4, Viewtiful Joe, Killer7, Twin Snakes, etc. (With many of those having the 'cube versions come out months if not years prior, to boot). And that's not even touching on the various Nintendo games on it, which aren't even limited to the ones everyone talks about - Cubivore was great, for example.

As far as "underpowered" is concerned, the Dreamcast was the least powered of the generation, followed by the PS2. Gamecube and Xbox were close to one another, and the GC had one or two bullet points where it was better, but overall the Xbox was more powerful, largely because of various limitations (optical storage being the foremost in my mind).

The 'cube was an awesome little system - if you didn't get to realize this, you weren't paying attention and I kinda feel bad you missed out.

I owned 37 'cube games and of those, I'd say only three or so weren't worth the purchase (and all three were gifts :v)

It could, of course, be the new Gamecube. *NM* - 08/06/2011 11:13:57 AM 299 Views
Which was a fantastic console. *NM* - 08/06/2011 05:29:42 PM 298 Views
And also made Nintendo money. *NM* - 08/06/2011 05:57:45 PM 267 Views
It's still not something Nintendo wants. - 08/06/2011 08:02:01 PM 687 Views
Shush. Let not your plague of truth and reason enter this discourse! *NM* - 08/06/2011 08:49:46 PM 286 Views
Heh. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it was a bad console. - 09/06/2011 07:24:48 AM 821 Views
Please. It picked up at the end of its lifespan, but it doesn't come close to XBox or PS2 - 09/06/2011 12:45:29 AM 568 Views

What does Nintendo have against processing power? You don't HAVE to cripple yourself! - 09/06/2011 12:55:21 AM 595 Views

That's also being affected by disappointing 3DS sales. - 09/06/2011 02:23:55 AM 614 Views
One of the reasons I didn't mention Sony's post-E3 stock drop. - 09/06/2011 09:53:02 PM 569 Views
Only one Wii U controller per system. That's a big downer, IMO, even if they'd be pricey for 2+ - 10/06/2011 04:04:43 PM 764 Views
I'm ecstatic, actually. - 10/06/2011 04:18:10 PM 573 Views

I think it uses Wii remotes with pointer controls. Not sure though. - 10/06/2011 08:39:12 PM 566 Views
