But the Wii U? Is the hardware equivalent of the PS3 and 360. Consoles that came out 5 YEARS AGO.
This. Is. Not. True.
IBM has stated the processor is a Power7 variant. This is much more powerful than the processors in any console right now.
AMD has implied that the graphics processor is roughly two to three generations past current consoles.
None of the tech which has been shown has demonstrated anything about the graphical fidelity of the console other than the Zelda bit (which a lot of people thought was pre-rendered video until it was shown that you can manipulate the camera/lighting/etc) because what they're showing is focused on the gameplay aspects instead, and none of the third party titles are ready to show yet because the launch is a year away.
It remains to be seen how much of a leapfrog Sony and Microsoft will do in turn, but this is clearly more powerful than both the PS3 and 360 from what we have been told at this point.
I don't even know if I'm going to buy the damn thing, and there's plenty of room to criticize it, but at least pay attention and make reasonable criticisms.

It's possible. I'm not saying this is a guarantee, but we've seen how the DS & Wii have printed $$$. *NM*

Please. It picked up at the end of its lifespan, but it doesn't come close to XBox or PS2

Gamecube was the top of my leaderboard in quantity and quality of titles owned, too. Until the 360.

Same here. In fact, I'd go so far as to say it has the best library of any console I've ever had.

I came across a "fact sheet" earlier today listing most of what's known about the Wii U.

It's all about the games, and we haven't seen those yet. But I have some concerns.

Only one Wii U controller per system. That's a big downer, IMO, even if they'd be pricey for 2+
