I definitely read some stuff saying it was comparable to PS3
.........................doing research..........................
Ooh, it's blu-ray, and backwards compatible with GameCube AND Wii? That is pretty sweet. Doesn't affect me, since I didn't own the last two nintendo consoles (roommates did), but very slick.
http://pubvo.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/prcspec13iu.jpg A list of its stats, apparently.
Hm... accusations that the demo video had some footage of PS3 and 360 games...
OK, I'll admit that it does seem pretty powerful. Time will tell how it compares to whatever the Sony and Microsoft consoles will be, but Wiiu (god, I hate that name) will naturally be at a disadvantage there, from coming out so much sooner.
Seems like everything is so cluttered with speculation and bias that it's hard to sift out the truth. It does seem like it's at least more powerful than current systems. Guess we'll see.

I amuse myself.

It could, of course, be the new Gamecube. *NM*

It's possible. I'm not saying this is a guarantee, but we've seen how the DS & Wii have printed $$$. *NM*

It's still not something Nintendo wants.

Please. It picked up at the end of its lifespan, but it doesn't come close to XBox or PS2

Gamecube was the top of my leaderboard in quantity and quality of titles owned, too. Until the 360.

Same here. In fact, I'd go so far as to say it has the best library of any console I've ever had.

I came across a "fact sheet" earlier today listing most of what's known about the Wii U.

It's all about the games, and we haven't seen those yet. But I have some concerns.

Only one Wii U controller per system. That's a big downer, IMO, even if they'd be pricey for 2+
