But seriously, it's just a farewell. The words are actually Italian, I've seen a few translations, some possibly interesting hints to Chell's backstory and whatnot.

Honestly, I thought I/Chell was going to die. The elevator opens, the turrets see you, and I was just amazed at GlaDOS's evilness.
