why a "high-end" laptop? are you a graphics professional? will you be playing graphics-intensive games? will it just be for surfing? how about photoshop? 3d studio max? will you be using it predominantly for msoffice?
are you a "pc person"? is it imperative that you use windows?
I know it is a lot of questions but these are the ones that I ask myself before moving on with a purchase of a computer.
Graphics Professionals especially those that use Autodesk software to the fullest (means 3D), I would recommend that you look at the certified graphics card that they've tested on. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/cert?siteID=123112&id=16391880
If it is just gaming, you will probably need the top graphic cards if you do want to play nice FPS like Modern Warfare 3, Skyrim on high settings.
If you are not big on using the laptop for your graphics needs, I'd recommend a Mac. It has MSOffice, it can do windows if it needs to, you are relatively safe from viruses, easy to use.

Unless you must play high-end games on the go, consider a laptop + desktop combo.

The G74 looked promising. Only thing I didn't like was the clockspeed of the processor. *NM*

I got the G74. So far, it looks to be quite a beast. I'm going to go pick Skyrim up later today. *NM*
