It doesn't have a multitude of breakout games, but there's a number of above average ones out there Jragghen Send a noteboard - 25/09/2009 05:39:12 PM
Look, the system is plenty of fun, but the software for it is complete shit. The concept for the system is great, but it's woefully underpowered, and the games are almost universally terrible. Sure, there are a couple of decent games out there, but to be honest they are very very few and far between.

I'm enjoying Muramasa a good deal right now. Classic old-school beat-'em-up game, not short, and absolutely gorgeous.

Other two games I'm primarily looking forward to? No More Heroes 2 and Final Fantasy: The Crystal Bearers. The former just looks all-around fantastic, getting better with every minute piece of information - multiple people to play as, tons of bosses, lots of fun to play at PAX, etc - and the latter just exudes a....I don't even know how to describe it. A mood so unlike other FFs that I can't help but grin. Here's trailer for each:

No More Heroes 2 (older trailer, couldn't find it on short notice for some reason)

So yeah. I've had a lot of fun on my Wii, and intend to continue to do so. It doesn't have the marquee blockbusters like previous generations had, but honestly....none of the consoles have struck me as particularly great this time around. My PC has been getting the lion's share of my gaming time. Wii's got a number of enjoyable, but not breakout, games.
