I will have to disagree with this... MightyYT Send a noteboard - 26/09/2009 08:20:46 AM
That story is so far inferior to that of FF6 it isn't allowed to swim in FF6's toilet bowl! aAAAAaaaarhghghhahghhgh

Maybe it sucks balls and I'm just remembering it through the eyes of a teenager.

Then again, I'm confident that FF7's story was better (and better executed) than that of FF6.

For the record, I think the best videogame story ever was in Braid. Small glimpses that force the reader to piece things together seem to be the best storytelling method for videogames, because they can't out-film film or out-cartoon cartoons.

The story to 7 got very morose with all of Cloud's Melodrama. I would say it is no better or worse than the story of 6 in that respect.

What 6 did better than any other Final Fantasy is the character's stories. Each character felt fleshed out (with the obvious exceptions of Gogo, Umaro, and Mog). And it was easy to understand why everyone was doing what they were doing. XII came close (except for Vaan and Penelo) with that aspect, I thought. I enjoyed the main story of XII more than any other FF, except for 2/4 (American/Japanese numbers).
Castle: This is so weird. I dressed up as him for Halloween.

Beckett: Me too.

~When Castle and Beckett met Gene Simmons.

Exactly. When I think story here, I think of the individual stories as well as the whole. - 26/09/2009 07:13:24 PM 650 Views
Still, it's good for a videogame story. - 26/09/2009 07:54:01 PM 572 Views
I agree, with caveat. - 26/09/2009 11:54:25 PM 688 Views
New games do not feature the storytelling prowess of good TV, films, or novels. - 28/09/2009 01:03:46 AM 599 Views
I disagree. Maybe you're playing the wrong games. *NM* - 28/09/2009 04:51:48 AM 284 Views
