The stories are only loosely connected, with only one character between them all. The games take place centuries apart and some of the towns, while having the same names are very different.

As far as the alignment system goes, it doesn't really affect the world at large, but NPC's will react differently to you. Perosnally, I love when the villagers go running from me, mwa ha ha!

Oh, and some of the Magic Door Quests are tough to do...
