1.Hmm. Play with friends. Sounds like a wild concept but I'll try it out. Seriously, I've only got a few that are on steam. Only onge bought it due to my nagging. Most of my gamer friends bought it for console thinking that fps are definitely made for consoles. Meh. Not for me.

My steam handle is deadly.by.design, though I can't guarantee that our playing times or characters will even align well enough to work out. :)

2.Problem is, I'm not sure what gun I want. Higher DPS and green arrows are the pure basis of my trying a gun out on an actual enemy. Come to think of it, I'm using a gun with a fire element on it, I'd only replace it with another gun with an elemental effect with a higher dps.

Yeah, gun or effect loyalty can be hard to overcome. If the damage is high enough, I'll use a small magazine weapon, but I generally prefer more ammo. It's good to have at least one gun that lets the bullets flow like a river, since reloading takes so long.

3.I do hope they develop more gamestyles. I've managed to get a character of each class to Sanctuary (that was a grind). Hope to expand the re-playability of this game through this. I'm concerned about re-playing story quests though.

I've had more fun playing my one character to level 15 than I did with all four getting to Sanctuary. So, keep your chin up! The enemies I've encountered post-Sanctuary definitely break up the monotony of having repeated the first few chapters.

7. After the final boss, what is supposed to happen to that insatiable gun lust?

I generally don't like DLC, but I think it's the answer in this case. BL1 had some pretty good DLC, and Gearbox is aiming to give us some substantial content in the next 6-8 months. So, more guns, stories and level caps.

Don't get me wrong, I'd like to know a different kind of experience but trying out games like Mario, God of War, the appeal ends after the first hour. Strategy games have better hooks into me, but finding a substitute or better alternative for enduring loot games is still the gaming holy grail methinks. What do you think?

Strategy/RTS brings up a good point, and the answer there is usually user-generated content, PvP content or extreme challenges. Since I doubt we'll be getting an SDK for any kind of significant mods, etc, and BL doesn't seem to be really into PvP, I'd expect challenging DLC.

Like I said, people who've rushed through the game already are recommending to skip side quests in the second playthrough. That way, you finish the first time around level 25-30, then whenever you finish the second time, everything gets scaled to level 52-60 difficulty. That may not be the most elegant solution, but I think it will work for those with enough playing time to be through all of the content already. (which might have been me a few years ago, but not now)
The sword might be grateful to the forge fire, but never fond of it.
