Never played it, although I played P3: FES A Deathwatch Guard Send a noteboard - 14/12/2012 11:37:54 AM
Which was a fun game, that I spent easily over a hundred hours playing. But it's the sort of game where you play it and then beat it and then wonder, "WTF is wrong with me, I just wasted countless hours on the equivalent of bubble wrap."

So yeah, it's a fun game, but the story actually wasn't all that good, it was pretty poorly paced, you spent half the game doing relatively pointless Sim-like activities that require assistance from a FAQ if you want to get the best things in the game, and the combat is relatively uninspired, not to mention constantly dangerous due to the game's use of instant death spells that actually work. I can only imagine Persona 4 is more along the same lines... So approach at your own risk.

And just to clarify, I've easily sunk hundreds of hours into games like FFX and Elder Scrolls: Morrowind, and yet none of those felt like such wastes of my time. Despite all games being, when you get down to it, simply combinations of button presses. I really can't explain it any better than that, and while I don't exactly regret my P3 experience, I don't think I would want to repeat it either... So make of that what you will.
