Quick heads up: Xbox Live on-demand "ultimate game sale" going on for the next week or so. Aemon Send a noteboard - 26/02/2013 08:21:56 PM

So you may have noticed that, up to this point, Live's games-on-demand purchasing option has been a gigantic ripoff, with games typically selling for well above the average retail price. Microsoft is apparently turning over a new leaf, though, and from today until March 4th, they're pulling a Steam and putting up a set of new games each day for 50 - 75% off. The ones I've checked are all cheaper than Amazon's new price, and generally cheaper than the used price, too. In other words, good deals are to be had. The only "catch" is that Microsoft will be announcing their next-gen console very soon, and releasing by the end of the year. It's very likely that the new system will NOT support 360 games, and that Xbox Live will not support the 360 forever. In other words, if you buy these games, you may not have access to them at some point in the future. Even so, being able to play through some of the older blockbusters you missed for $3 - $5 is pretty compelling, even if you might lose them in a few years.

Anyway, yeah. Just figured some of you might not have noticed this yet. Have fun.
