I don't remember a single track from 11, 12, or x-2, so it changes nothing

and my favorite tracks from 10 are by him. My favorite FF song of all time was on X and by him (Ending Theme).
The majority of X was by Uematsu.
Here's some stuff from rpgfan.com:
Uematsu contributed 51 tracks, Hamauzu contributed 20 tracks and Nakano contributed 18 tracks to the game

Here's some stuff from rpgfan.com:
Junya Nakano wrote the least material for the soundtrack, but his distinctive style creates several outstanding pieces.
Uematsu, who wrote the majority of the soundtrack, contrasts with his co-composers.
He writes the simple, utterly beautiful, and saddening "To Zanarkand," for one.
Uematsu also writes all of the character themes.

I'm not excited, because I didn't like 12 (but I'll still buy it)

It's not being made by the team who made 12, though.

The last FF game with a Uematsu soundtrack was Final Fantasy 9.

I don't know about Ryan, but my first FF was II for the SNES (which was actually IV in Japan). *NM*
