Yup, noticed that. The game does change in the later tiers.

You can shoot as much as you want and not worry about ammo as long as you're constantly moving back and forth over the screen. The game changes from an accuracy challenge, to a survival challenge. Still pretty easy though. Beat it with no trouble the first time I tried (first few times I played I didn't have time to play all the way through).
Fun game though.
