If so, could you please give me some Pros and Cons of this. I have read some of the message boards, but I am still looking for more info.

They all seem to be telling me that yellow dog linux works very well for it. You can use an external hard drive, of course, but you've got to re-partition the thing a half a dozen times since you can only use FAT 32 if you want to access it with the ps3. That said, for the money it would make a nice multimedia center, and it's got a blu ray player on it, so it seems like a solid deal to me.
