I also really appreciated all the wall comments I got on FB on my birthday... most of them were from RAFOnauts, and even if people just posted because of the prompt or whatever, it still made me feel special and happy. And it reminded me to start hanging around here more often!

My universe has swung back the other way a bit though; on Monday my eye started hurting really badly. It turns out that I had an infection which then developed an ulcer. This is not the first time I've had this problem (may be an auto-immune thing that goes with the tummy problems). Anyhow, I got to know the opthamologist really well this week. :P And haven't slept for more than an hour at a time due to the treatment... which was rigorous, effective, and good, so now my eye is all pain-free again.

I still can't see very well out of it, though. Doctor is giving it a week and will check if the vision has improved at all, but I may be left with some permanent scarring this time.

I don't know, we'll see. Hopefully. :P Right now, I'm just looking forward to sleeping a whole night through again. One more day before I can do that.

woe for your eye
at least they cleared up the ulcer, though. Hopefully your sight comes back fine and dandy :)
Ow! I had an eye injury a few months ago
Fortunately, I still had the medications from the last time it got damaged. And NYC has an eye & ear hospital, so there were specialists at hand.

I was very lucky because I got no infection. But my mom had one that did develop an ulcer, and the docs told her she could've lost that eye.

During the three(!) times my eye has been injured, I've been in pain, but not as bad as yours. I would hurt a little when I went to sleep, but it wasn't so distracted that I couldn't get at 5-7 hours' rest before waking up.

Feel better!
