Directly across the street from where I'm currently living. The rent is higher, but the house is in better nick. I'm moving in with people from my uni course. I'll either get along great or be fit to kill them within a few days. We shall see.

My family and I recently moved into a house down the road, just about a block or so, and it was terrible. Because it's so close, you're like "we don't need to pack into designated boxes, just throw stuff into a box and carry it over" ug, no, treat it like you're moving across the country, pack kitchen stuff together, label boxes, etc. We did hire a moving company to move the big stuff like the couches, thank goodness. We had to move our fridge over ourselves though, we wheeled that down the street! I'm sure it was quite a sight. Good luck!
I was only moving around three bags and some assorted junk.
I can imagine the hassle in moving a whole household, and the temptation to be all 'crew it, it's only a short move'.

As for myself, I had only lived in the other house for two months for a summer job and was living on just slightly more than the bare minimum I required to survive. That made for a quick pack and the relatively easy move.

The I've moved into will be my semi-permanent base for the next year or two. Sometime soon I'm going to get a car load of stuff from my family home, so that I'm fully kitted out. The benefit of living in Ireland is that even though I'm living on the other side of the country to my family, it's still only a three hour car journey home.
*screw it *NM*
