Job Rant!

I really hate my job! I'm currently looking for a new one and have an interview on thursday yay! The only thing I can thank McDonalds for is promoting me into management (I did actually learn a lot from my advancement there) which looks fantastic on my resume. I have worked there for 2 years, I don't eat there often, and I actually don't eat any fast food meat because it's disgusting. The thing I hate most about working at McDonalds is the customers though. I will admit I actually like a lot of my regulars, but there are some real jerks that come into McDonalds. Yes I understand that everyone should recieve great service and should get what they order, but when someone makes a mistake I think people should be somewhat understanding. A man is going to make a complaint about me to "head office", because I asked him in my polite McManager voice to not be rude to my newest employee. He comes in all the time and is extremely degrading and rude. He speaks down to all the employees and it is extremely frustrating to be spoken to like I'm stupid when in fact I am in university (yes that doesn't necessarily make me smart, but I'm probably smarter than that prick!!). If I wasn't a mature adult and didn't want a good reference from McDonald's on my last day if I saw that man I think I would tear a strip off of him. He thinks I'm testy and hostile now, and I think he is lucky I'm professional on the job!

Hey man, we all hate our jobs. Except for the times when we want a fresh new DVD, a sixer of a porter, and the ability to take our girl out for a slice of mushroom and pepperoni pizza, maybe an ice cream or a slice of chocolate torte, because those times -- those times you love that job more than anything.

And from now on, I'm asking the people at my work to call me a McManager. No joke.
Re: Job Rant!
I really like my job, I'm a costumer at university, a stitcher. But my boss knows I'm not the best at the machines so I tend to paint things, make accessories, crafty stuff. It only pays minimum wage ($7.25) an hour, but I really like it.

I hope you find a good job. I'm also a waitress at nights and it's really giving me a new perspective on how people treat those in the food business. I've never been treated badly by a customer, my fellow employees, some are dicks, but generally people are nice to me and now when something goes wrong with an order I place if I go out, I try to be more understanding because I know sometimes it's not my waiter's fault.

Gaps: Fair enough, although if I can get a job which I will like better then I certainly will. Are you a manager at McDonalds? That would be an odd request if you weren't :P.

Delireus: That sounds like a pretty fun job, its always way better if there is something, if not everything, about your job that you are passionate about!! Ya it can definitely help with perspective when you are in the other persons shoes for a change :).
