Our clinic runs a parent group for parents of kids with ADHD. My son has Asperger's, but our doctor advised us to take the class as it is mostly about how to parent non compliant children than it is about ADHD. I have had to explain more than once that we are not in court ordered parenting classes. Seems if you go to them you must be a bad parent or something. Nope just parents in a difficult situation. We have only been twice now, but both have been positive experiences. I'm all about learning and getting every bit of information to give us success and harmony in our home. I'm so impressed that my husband is just as excited about the class as I am. I don't think I can homeschool forever. I think we are in our last year or so now. Getting some skills and new ideas is just what I need to feel empowered to help my son seek his potential. He is getting ready to get back to school and be with the other kids. He needs me less and less. And that is what I always wanted for him.

Babbling and garbling and clearing after a good class. Thanks :)

I'm sure he'll be able to go back to school
Even if he doesn't go to a full public school right away, I see no reason why he can't go back to a more specialized school at some point until he's ready for the public schools. You got a smart kid, and you and your hubby take great care of him. He'll be alright :)
Awesome, I'm am always inspired by your insight. *NM*

Good news, and good to hear.
Sounds like someone's been richly blessed in his parents, but I'd already reached that conclusion. Some days are good, some days are bad, but that good ones make the bad ones worthwhile, especially when they grow at the latters expense. Keep being awesome; who knows, maybe some of it rubbing off on others. *hugs*

I hope things go well. He needs to learn to want to know how others are thinking or feeling because he can't read facial cues. I think that will help with socialization and that is specific to Aspergers and not part of ADHD.
