I like magic that has almost scientific explanations and workings.
You can have some mystical understanding, but I like it when there is a tacit understanding as to why the effects work.
Mix of the two *NM*
ok
why in the world is someone on this site if they dont like magic in their books???? its basically standard stuff in all fantasy literature!
I like both
it depends entirely on how it is presented.
I always liked Farland's system of Endowments. *NM*

This is also a "sci-fi" site, where there is infrequently "magic"
Anyway. I like magic that makes sense and you can go "mmk, i could see how that could work", but isn't necessarily scientific either. Just makes some form of logical science-type sense.

There is a time and place for everything.
Like Camilla said, it depends on it's presented.
