I didn't know Terry Pratchett thinks so...
But yes, I do.
I have no idea what he thinks.
What is he calling euthanasia? If that means assisted suicide as a choice a patient who is terminally ill can make then yes. If that means a doctor or family member can make it (given that a living will does not exist) then no.
Depends. I wouldn't want to burden doctors with assisted deaths and the following guilt.
Plus, it's MY death. I'm not going to be a coward and order someone to do it so my hands are clean while the assistant's is dirtied. pfft
If I were suffering from an incurable disease, I would just stop taking medicine and let it have me. I would also refuse being hooked to life support machines to prolong my life.
here's the link to the article with Pratchett's call to tribunal:

Well, Wyrm, that's the thing.
If you're stuck in a hospital and hooked up to an IV or something, you can't just cut yourself off. But, were the doctor to, say, give you an overdose of morphine, than you could die peacefully.
No, these things will always be taken advantage on... Humans are not capable of this.
Will not be long until you see the first murder, people killing of relatives for inheritance, doctors playing god and loving the feeling, young people given up on, people wanting to die to not be a burden etc... etc...
Better let nature do this.
Better let nature do this.
Fuck nature. Send in the morphine. *NM*
Answers too general.
Most people can't answer this with a simple yes or no.
I agree with MGB.
I'm not against euthanasia, per se, but I think it's one of those things that would be very easy to take advantage of.
On the other hand, the right to a dignified self-chosen end is not something to dismiss out of hand.
I have no idea.

I'm undecided
On principle, I believe euthanasia is a good option. In practicality, I think it may be one of those things were the potential for abuse outweighs its benefit. I don't know.
