Victory in the game is expected to most likely be achieved the normal 'kill everyone' route, without the usual 'majority win' in play since more than most games two townies vs 2 scum would not be an automatic scum victory. The game will of course end if at any point the mod determines that a faction will absolutely win barring suicidal behavior, but I anticipate a total extermination of any other faction(s) to be necessary to win. Since that may not be possible there are a number of built-ins that can break stalemates up, these items represent one of them along with their other significance.

Players can actually initiate the ritual as soon as they have all the items, but this requires players with the items voluntarily admit to having them and go perform the ritual. A player can prove they have an item, I will verify one is in someone's possession if they claim to have it and ask it's authenticity be verified. If any faction goes and performs the ritual on their own, they win, if the ritual includes people of more than 1 faction where no faction is singularly present, it basically sets off a series of duels until someone is in control and can zap everyone else, and the ritual is automatic on Day 13. The various people who control the items going into the ritual have a slight edge in the free-for-all, and they are duels so stats matter. Besides killing someone and taking their stuff, there are ways to track down the items, steal them, or even temporarily hide them.

In spite of that, victory will most likely come from exterminating all opposition. The ritual itself is effectively a way to break stalemates.
