He claimed Darkness as a response to Gher's questions, which is as good an excuse as any. I don't think he's a Darkfriend, especially not given the ease with which we managed to get a lynch on him after stalling on Gher for days.

With Blaine and fistofpainx's votes, his death is going to be officially declared any minute now. Once we confirm that he was indeed for the Light, we can start looking at the list of voters for plausible suspects, this time with actual evidence. If there was no real reason to lynch Hobo or Gher (today), this lynch gives us plenty of clues. I'll write in only pink for a week if there was no Darkfriend involvement in this lynch (and Hobo is not a Darkfriend himself.)
The first rule of being a ninja is "do no harm". Unless you intend to do harm, then do lots of harm.
