So, who was the scum's assassin on the final Night, and who did they target? *NM* Fanatic-Templar Send a noteboard - 13/02/2014 04:57:19 PM

That had to be the messiest night action adjudication in RAFO Mafia history. FYI during the game there were 6 launched NKs and 4 attempted cult conversions. By and large they each had better than 50/50 odds of succeeding, but between outside intervention (roleblocks,Night Watch arrests, etc) and RPS choices, of those 6 NKs and 4 conversion attempts, exactly one suceeded: Ranagrande, the Mad Bursar of Unseen Academy, killed Stephen, the NK capable Watch member, with his giant Spoon of Obliteration. And 6 is actually low on the NK chart, quite a few people had the ability but didn't use it or used it infrequently. From Mod view its been like watching a coin land on heads ten times in a row.

Anyway we'll get to the gory details but here's the victor list:

Bergioyn (Captian Carrot) - Night Watch Special Victory (2 consecutive nights after Day 3 without anyone dying during the night.
Fanatic-Templar (Sergeant Detritus) - Night Watch Special Victory (2 consecutive nights after Day 3 without anyone dying during the night.
Sacrilicious Toast (Corporal Nobbs) - Night Watch Special Victory (2 consecutive nights after Day 3 without anyone dying during the night.
Stephen (Lance Corporal Sally) - Night Watch Special Victory (2 consecutive nights after Day 3 without anyone dying during the night.
Praziquantel (Mr. Slant) - Lawyer Special Victory, 2 days ending in a No Lynch while alive.
? (William de Worde) - Modified Hippo Victory, all foreigners killed except Captain Carrot the one true king of Ankh-Morpork, as a nobleman de Worde takes as a given that Carrot is a true Ank-Morporkian.

Interestingly these were the outside-odds win conditions designed for stalemates. Everybody had multiple and individual conditions and/or faction ones. Here were the factions in the game and there primary special win:

Hippos - Kill all foriegners (Carrot was the last surviving foreigner)
Watch - Two Nights (after Day 3) without a Night Kill
Wizards - All Wizards survive to the Dawn of Day 5 alive and with their hats (ranagrande and taiga were the wizards)
Undead - Achieve a majority players as undead

Now the Wizards faction and Undead faction only partially came in, and there were some others that didn't come in, like dwarves and trolls because only one of each was randomly selecte to be a character (Carrot and Detritus). These factions were essentially 'also won', for instance if on Day 5 there's been 3 undead and 2 non-undead players 'alive' then those 3 undead would have won but that victory wouldn't have excluded another faction/player winning. The only two 'enders' were the two pure factions, the Watch and the Hippos.

Simple summary of the game, the Hippos (essentially scum) needed to wipe out foreigners and the Watch needed to stop Night Kills, at any point one of those two happened, the game ended, and except for our serial killers (rana and taiga) who both had non-extermination VCs (wizards for both and undead for Taiga) everyone else had VCs that applied when the game ended for Watch or Hippos etc.

Long grueling game, very unexpected night results perpetually, but well done all.

As for next Mod, I believe Praz had put his name in, which would supercede on precedence right now, and ? is next after I believe.
