Ailgar faltered as the cursed blade cut a thin line across his chest. The wound wasn't deep, but inflicted by Thakan'dar's black swords, it would be enough to see him dead. With a fierce, desperate cry he leaped after the retreating Myrddraal. "Come, Shadowspawn, I'm bringing you down with me!"

Even as the poison drained away his strength, he found his foe and severed his head with a brutal two handed swing. Then, retrieving his discarded spear, he impaled the Myrddraal's flailing corpse on it and drove it into the ground to keep the creature from moving.

Finally, he fell to the ground. His gaze rested upon the city's fortified walls. With the Trollocs in disarray, this would be the ideal occasion for a sortie, to kill all the beasts. But he couldn't count on that.

"Julort! Julort, take this opportunity to run back to..." Back to what? The Asha'man's betrayal meant that there would be no ambush waiting to exterminate the Trollocs. "Run back to the refugees. Help bring them to the capital. I've taken a Myrddraal's wound, I'll be dead in seconds. Light protect you. Go now!"

Ailgar's unfeeling fingers groped about for his sword, and he set about executing the unresponsive Trollocs, to die as a true Child of the Light: fighting the Shadow to his last breath.

OoC: Unless something happens, I'm just coup-de-grâce killing the Trollocs until the Thakan'dar poison finishes me off.
