Zrstlagd reached up and took down the gems, and gently sent telekinetic threads through them, feeling how each reacts.

Typically, gems had the color of their mages power. However, it wasn't necessary, as Geomancers were able to change the colors of crystals.

He stood there examining the gems for sometime, and to anyone else he must've looked mad, staring intently at gems, sometimes just staring off into space. Eventually, he decided upon a stone that was about half-rock, half-gem, colored a deep blue. "Kraklaw, what would you want for this stone?"
At last, I have an apostrophe!
